COCKSY'S FISHING RULES
Although the full details and official rules will be dropped at our briefing on Friday night before cast off, here are the three Cocksy Fishing Commandments:
RESPECT
Respect the ocean - on every level.
Be prepared for anything nature throws at you.
FISHING
Hook & spear fishing, boat & land is allowed.
Show off your angling and diving mojo but no longlines or craypots.
BANTER
The judges decision is final and rules may be flexible depending on bribes.
PRIZEGIVING
DINNER FUNCTION TICKET: $40 per person
If you'd like to join us for our famous prizegiving dinner, we'd absolutely love to have you. Don't miss out on this mouth watering feast, carefully prepared by none other than our Roadie MasterChef's from the Kiwi Kids Charity.
Purchase tickets from the team during Friday night's briefing or on Saturday during the day at the Tairua Rugby Club. Tickets are limited so first in, best dressed.
PRIZES
For the big kahuna of prizes - The Golden Fleece, there is no "one" individual winner, like a good rugby match, it comes down to a "team effort". In the spirit of the yellow jersey concept, it is a team that is awarded the coveted "Golden Fleece". A status that we hope will be fiercely contended in the future.
Although prizes are part of this event, they should not be the reason people attend. It is made loud and clear that participation in this comp is NOT about "what's in it for you", it's about what we can raise for the kids.
